Last week a friend of Daddy's, who works for a publisher, sent Millie some books (he gets to choose 4 free books a DAY, how lucky is that!). One of these was a workbook. She didn't take much notice of it at first, prefering the story books but this morning she came running into the bedroom with it wanting to "do" stuff. We did all the verbal exercises first, about sorting and opposites, then she wanted to do the "written" ones. So i said ok, after we get dressed. I came back a few minutes later and she had already started, lol! She had done a dot-to-dot of a sock, i was stunned as we've never done anything like this before. She was thrilled at my reaction of course. So we sat down together and did a bit more. There was a page with a dinner plate where you had to draw your favourite food. She insisted on doing this so i asked what her favourite food was "bananas" came the reply, and she drew a....face! i was amazed again as this is the first time she has actually drawn anything recognisable. She didn't stop at eyes, hair and mouth though and i wondered what she was doing when she did two lines next to it, " a banana with a face" she announced!
